The One That Got Away
Much happening of late, my freaky internet funsters. You can probably tell, considering I gave this website a swanky new cut & colour on the weekend, and I only ever do that when I have deadlines looming and far more constructive things to do. So as you can see, it’s been a truly unproductive couple of days, but anyway.
First up, important stuff, exciting stuff, and, uh, stuff that’s now been public for at least a few weeks (hey, I told you, it’s been busy of late), but…
The final contributor list for the new Dark Prints Press crime anthology was released just a short while ago. Much yays and excitement all round. (Let’s hear it then: Yay!) Especially as I’m on it.
More importantly, a list of far, far grander writers than myself are on it – up to and including Lawrence Block, and Chris Sims, and Will Elliot, and, well, lots of them that leave me feeling pretty awed and out of my depth, just to have a story of mine sitting right there next to tales by authors of that calibre.
So mark it as critical on your urgent To Do lists, folks, and go check the anthology details and contributor list here: http://www.darkprintspress.com.au/books_totga.html
Now, crime’s not my usual haunt, but the shadows are vast enough to encompass all kinds of fun, I figure, and besides, this is a dark-crime antho, which is edging much closer to my familiar territory. It’s stories about unsolved crimes, the successful crims, the thwarted detectives, literally the ones that got away…
Soooo… go check out the antho – it’s released in early 2012, and pre-orders are already available on the Dark Prints Press website now…
‘Till next, you lot…

I’m Kathryn Hore. I’m a writer and photographer and occasional librarian. I write speculative fiction of all kinds, as well as business non-fiction, which is not as unrelated as you might think. I take photos of weddings and spiders, though usually not at the same time, and live in the Dandenong Ranges on the outskirts of Melbourne. Online you’ll find me under the handle @kahmelb, at least on those sites where I’m happy to be publicly identified and which wouldn’t make my mother blush. Much.
