The *other* blog
Oh. Hai. Fancy meeting you here. Yeah, it’s changed a bit, in recent months. Well, not so recent now, I guess. I stopped regularly blogging here when I ran out of time to do it properly, which was… well, some time ago now. These days, I keep it to stickup little tidbits and interesting snippets as I come across them. Photos as I create them. Quotes as I read them. The odd note or two as it strikes my fancy.
But regularly blog? No. Not anymore.
At least… Not here.
But elsewhere, uh, yes. See, I’m blogging on another site these days. Yes, I’m afraid to say, I’ve been cheating on you. Hanging about other online haunts. Keeping my best words for other places. Sorry. That’s just the way it is.
Anyway, in case you’re interested, the *other* blog is about IVF.
Yes, that big, fun, weirdo journey of trying to get pregnant, medical-intervention style.
See, one of the first things I found when Beloved and I started upon the process of trying to get knocked up via advanced medical science is that there’s a big confusing silence surrounding what the actual experience of it is like. It’s all very hush-hush and nobody really knows what’s involved. There’s something about injections. And sometimes nasal sprays. Hormones are in there somewhere. And somehow embryos are created and all ends happily, because that’s the other thing I discovered – when you do get information, it’s invariably by someone who’s survived it with success, and is writing now about how they got to that success.
But success ain’t guaranteed. Indeed, statistically, it’s not even that likely.
So I decided to document it all as it happens, in all the gory detail, regardless of how it turns out, and with a good dollup of sarcasm on the side – because you know me, being serious even about serious subjects is hardly something I’m good at.
So that’s what I’ve been doing with myself of late. Blogging about IVF, because expensive, invasive, emotionally-draining medical procedures really should be shared with the world.
If you want to pop over and have a gander, this is where you’ll find me: www.funwithivf.wordpress.com
It gets updated regularly, every 2-3 days during a cycle, and it even has pictures. Especially of the needles. Because you all want to know about the needles, don’t you…
So why not grab some popcorn, settle in for a good read, and come see me over at Fun With IVF.
Catch you there…
